Introducing AI-powered feature research

by Claire George

Product managers have always done feature research. And now, we can help them do it faster. Our own product management team has already saved time testing the new AI research functionality in Aha! Ideas Advanced. With this launch, you can run AI analysis on ideas related to features you are defining — to quickly understand what customers really need.

Kick-start feature research with new AI-powered idea analysis. Gain valuable insights — including potential revenue and top use cases — so you can quickly identify what users need and create real business value.

When you are thinking through solutions, you want to hear what customers need so you can build the right thing. That is why many of you love using the Research tab in Aha! Roadmaps to centralize customer insights (such as interview notes, polls, and related ideas). But reviewing and synthesizing all the feedback can take a lot of time. Now, you can leverage AI to quickly analyze the ideas related to your feature (or initiative, release, or epic) in the Research tab.

Find the new Analyze with AI option in the Ideas section of the Research tab. Let AI comb through related ideas for you, including comments and proxy votes. It will quickly generate a structured note with a summary of the ideas, their popularity, potential revenue, key use cases, and more. All of this rich information will help you understand what customers need without having to read through each individual idea's details.

AI idea analysis is available for Aha! Roadmaps with Aha! Ideas Advanced plans. Note that your data will not be used to train the AI model. If you are not ready to use this new functionality, you can choose to disable it in the security settings for Aha! Ideas.

Here is how the magic unfolds:

Imagine you are prioritizing features for an upcoming release and want to dig deeper into existing feedback. In the example below, we already linked a few relevant ideas. (Find similar ideas on the Related tab or search for related topics in an AI exploration.) Now, we can let AI do the heavy lifting — a new note pops open with insights to mine.

AI-generated notes automatically link in the Concepts section within the Research tab.

Instantly understand customer needs

Let's review what AI summarized for us. First, we get a high-level overview. Then, we can review the related ideas, votes, and organizations. We see the total organization count and revenue are both high — indicating this is a widespread and valuable need for customers. Top segments and organizations ranked by revenue help us further understand who needs this so we can prioritize accordingly.

Use custom fields on organizations such as location, industry, and revenue to analyze ideas by customer segments.

Surface key use cases

Below the data summary, we get a curated list of use cases and descriptions that AI identified. We can use these as a jumping-off point for defining our feature. And of course, we can supplement as needed with our own customer knowledge.

Keep scrolling to review the quotes section below, which captures the voice of the customer for each use case — handily adding the customer's name, organization, and revenue.

Share your findings with the team. Add an inline comment to a specific section and @mention teammates there, or assign them a to-do to review the note.

Strengthen your PM superpowers to define, prioritize, and deliver new features by coupling the power of AI with your own customer knowledge.
