Schedule focus groups alongside 1:1 interviews in Aha! Discovery.
Use Aha! Discovery to run virtual focus groups
Have you ever attended a focus group? They are some of the most awkward group gatherings imaginable. As an attendee, you sit around a table with strangers who blurt out their opinions. As a researcher, you are likely watching the conversation unfold behind two-way glass with no way to direct it. And they are expensive.
You can now run virtual focus groups with Aha! Discovery.
Scheduling is already streamlined in Aha! Discovery — build a participant database, set up custom scheduling pages, and integrate with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom. Now, you can use the same workflow to schedule focus groups with multiple participants at the same time.
Here is what you can do:
Schedule group conversations: Add multiple participants to a single interview session.
Customize logistics: Set the registration limit, duration, and meeting location.
Invite participants: Preview the signup experience and share your unique scheduling link.
Analyze feedback: Upload the recording and transcript, then use AI to summarize your learnings.
To get started, go to the new Meetings section on your study’s scheduling page and create a new meeting. Choose the format (Group), Registration limit, and Interview duration. Add specific time slots or use your weekly available hours. You can even connect your Outlook calendar to sync availability automatically. Then, you are ready to share the scheduling link and watch registrations roll in.
The new group meeting format is available to all Aha! Discovery customers.
Let's see focus groups in action:
Schedule a virtual focus group
Set up time slots that work across time zones. Below, we want to bring a diverse group of cyclists together to understand how they prioritize ride data. (This will inform the roadmap for our fictitious cycling app, Fredwin Cycling.) So we send invitations using a custom macro that explains the session's purpose and expected outcomes.

You can integrate with Microsoft Outlook so your availability updates dynamically.
Analyze the feedback
Upload the recording and transcript to your study after the session. The AI assistant summarizes the feedback, highlighting where participants agreed on priorities and points of disagreement. It also suggested insights that relate to specific features on our roadmap. We used a custom AI prompt to dig deeper into the discussion — asking about any friction points cyclists mentioned and moments of delight.

Use tags to organize focus group findings, then create reports filtered by those tags.
Expand the ways you listen to customers, and you will uncover more ideas that help move your product forward.
The most valuable focus groups include participants who bring different perspectives to the conversation. To find a good mix, invite participants who shared feedback in your ideas portal or responded to polls related to the discussion topic. Add to your participant database by importing Salesforce contacts along with their roles and company details. This helps you connect with the most relevant voices — so you can gather more meaningful insights from every session.
