New Aha! Discovery + Salesforce integration for customer research

by Claire George

Who should we interview? Have we already talked to them? Is the account manager aligned with our product outreach? These are simple questions, but the answers are often scattered across tools. Our new Salesforce integration for Aha! Discovery brings everything together — so you can find the right people and build a more coordinated approach to research.

Import contacts from Salesforce into Aha! Discovery to build and manage a participant database.

You could already add participants to Aha! Discovery manually or import them from a CSV file. But many of your strongest interview candidates live in Salesforce. That is why we built a new integration that helps you import Salesforce contacts and keep their information up to date in Aha! Discovery.

Now, you can bring contacts into Aha! Discovery (along with key fields like title, organization, and interview approval) so you always know who is eligible for outreach and what makes them a good fit. This gives you a participant database you can rely on.

This new integration is available for customers on the Aha! Discovery Advanced and Aha! Ideas Advanced plans.

Let’s take a closer look at how the new integration works:

Add participants to your research database

Start by setting up a custom layout for contacts in Aha! Discovery. Map the fields you want to sync from Salesforce, such as name, email, and outreach approval status. Once your mappings are in place, filter your contacts in Salesforce to create a targeted list and import them directly into your participant database.

Interview the right customers

Now, you can quickly identify participants for your next research study based on their experience or engagement. In the example below, we filtered contacts by group and approval status to find study participants for a new Fredwin Cycling initiative (our fictitious fitness app). Each contact has current information from Salesforce and is already approved for outreach — so scheduling can start right away.

Add more fields related to interview history right from your participant database, including the number of interviews contacts have participated in and their most recent interview date.

Now, you can manage your own research CRM and have conversations that help shape your product.

If you are already using Aha! Ideas Advanced, this update also enhances your Salesforce integration. In addition to syncing account and opportunity data to analyze feedback by revenue potential, you can now sync contact details as well (such as name, title, and organization). Map these fields today to better understand the people behind each idea.

You will soon be able to sync interview history back to Salesforce to keep customer-facing teams connected to your discovery work. Stay tuned for many more Aha! Discovery updates on the way.
