Schedule Product Development Reports to Be Automatically Sent Out

by Claire George

How frequently do you share product development reports with the team? The answer likely depends on who needs the report and why. Leadership might want to see a monthly overview of progress against business goals, while sales and support teams prefer a weekly update of what shipped. You can create these reports in Aha! to help teams get the information they need. And with today's update, you can now schedule delivery to the right inboxes.

Schedule Aha! reports for email delivery — so you can stop manually sending them out.

There are several ways to share product reports, dashboards, and roadmaps. You can create saved views and share them internally with other Aha! users. Or you can share views more widely as a webpage. This option is ideal for giving non-Aha! users access to a live, interactive view of the data.

Today's update gives you another way to share — automatically. You now have the option to schedule email delivery of any saved Aha! view. Select a delivery cadence — daily, weekly, or monthly — and the time of day. Choose to share either a saved view in Aha! or an external webpage, then add recipients and a custom message. Save your selections and let the delivery take care of itself.

The ability to deliver reports via email is enabled by default in your account settings, but only the person who created and saved the view can actually schedule it. And if you want to share a saved view as a webpage, you will need to make sure that this option is enabled.

Let's take a closer look at how to schedule a report for delivery:

Create the right view

Build the exact report you need. Let's imagine that you want to share an executive progress report — displaying goals, financial metrics, and features planned by initiative. Bring everything together in one dashboard, save it as a webpage, and preview what you have built.

Enable interactive drill in so viewers can access more details about individual goals and initiatives.

Schedule email delivery

Now schedule it. Select the new Schedule email delivery option from the Share button and add relevant recipients and a custom message. In our example, we are sending the report as a shared webpage to the leadership team every Thursday at 4pm EDT — right before their weekly sync.

The email subject line will be the same as the report name.

Help facilitate transparency and proactive communication by delivering reports to the right people — right on time.

We think you are really going to like these automated report deliveries. Consider who would benefit from receiving regular reports and automate that task away.
