Just Launched! — Quickly Customize and Brand Your Ideas Portal

Crowdsourcing ideas from customers is a critical part of many product teams’ workflow. This is why Aha! ideas portals are so customizable — from branding to email communications to terminology. Today we bring you an even more streamlined experience.

The fresh new approach to getting going enables you to quickly create and customize the perfect ideas portal.

This update streamlines the way you create, customize, and brand an ideas portal. A new three-step form helps you quickly set up the basics. Once you complete the first few steps, toggle to the redesigned settings page to finish customizing the portal. Use the new color picker to make sure your portal matches your brand — no more CSS required.

If you already have an active portal, you will love the more organized settings. And if your team is not yet benefiting from Aha! idea management, now is the time to get started. You can add one or more ideas portals to each workspace or connect multiple workspaces to one ideas portal. Depending on your workspace type, you might need to enable the ideas tab in your navigation settings. An administrator with customizations permissions can configure an ideas portal.

Let's take a closer look at the new experience:

Capture the basics

Navigate to the ideas tab in your workspace or go to ideas portals in your account settings. When you click the button to add a portal, you will see a new three-step form: title, theme, and access. Private access requires users to log in to your ideas portal while public access allows anyone to submit and view ideas.

Customize settings

Toggle from your ideas portal to the settings page using the new administrator bar. A more organized settings page makes it easy to understand what is possible. Two new tabs — basics and content — contain essential settings such as your ideas portal type, access level, and associated workspaces. In the example below, we are updating the "thank you" email template that customers will receive each time they submit a new idea.

Update custom branding

You chose a theme color in the initial set-up. Want to update it? Use the new color picker in the branding tab. In the example below, we entered a custom hex code to precisely match our company's color and uploaded a logo. Then we toggled to the live ideas portal to immediately see how our styling changes look.
