Add Aha! Notebooks Users to Your Aha! Roadmaps Account

Product management is a highly collaborative endeavor. You work closely with teams across the organization to maximize the value you deliver to customers. Many of you rely on notes and whiteboards in Aha! Roadmaps to gather your thoughts and guide cross-functional discussions. These capabilities are included under Notebook for workspace and My work for personal activity in your existing account.

Of course, you could already share individual documents with people outside of your account to collaborate. But you told us that it would be helpful to give some colleagues the ability to create their own documents and be a part of your account — without them needing to access all of the Aha! Roadmaps functionality.

You can now add Aha! Notebooks users to your Aha! Roadmaps account so they can view, edit, and create notes and whiteboards in selected workspaces — creating a tightly integrated workflow as you go from brainstorming to structured planning.

If you are not familiar with Aha! Notebooks, it pulls together the ability to capture notes, whiteboard concepts, organize documents, and work through to-dos — all in one focused place. (It was previously known as Aha! Create but has been renamed to better reflect what it is used for. It also makes it consistent with how the functionality is organized and named in Aha! Roadmaps accounts.)

Today's launch introduces two new plans — so you can add Aha! Notebooks users directly to your Aha! Roadmaps account. If you choose the Aha! Notebooks Advanced plan ($18/user/month), users will be able to access documents in selected workspaces via the Aha! Notebooks interface. They will also be able to view linked Aha! records (like goals, initiatives, and features) within documents and assign and be assigned to-dos. The Aha! Notebooks Advanced+ plan ($27/user/month) allows users to access selected workspace documents within the full Aha! Roadmaps interface — with the added benefit of being able to view all pages in those workspaces, too.

Bringing more colleagues into your workspace breaks down the barriers to collaboration — without needing to make everyone a full Aha! Roadmaps user. Another advantage is the ability to consolidate tools and save costs. You no longer need any additional standalone notes or whiteboard applications because you now have a more powerful way for everyone to work together.

Let's take a closer look at the new plans:

Aha! Notebooks Advanced plan

This plan is perfect for enabling people to work alongside Aha! Roadmaps users in notes and whiteboards via the Aha! Notebooks interface. In the screenshot below, you can see the experience from the perspective of an Aha! Notebooks Advanced user. The workspace selector in the top left of the application makes it easy to switch between personal and workspace documents. Notice how we can open the feature link in this whiteboard — allowing us to see additional details about the work.

Aha! Notebooks Advanced+ plan

With this plan, users can access notes and whiteboards via the Aha! Roadmaps user interface. This gives them the ability to collaborate in documents, while gaining full visibility into your product plans. Users can browse through each section of the application — including strategy, releases, ideas, features, and roadmaps — to view information. They can also view individual records and leave comments. Below, you can see that the user experience is exactly the same as being a full Aha! Roadmaps user, except that editing capabilities are limited to notes and whiteboards.

The new add-on plans are available now to all Aha! Roadmaps Enterprise and Enterprise+ customers — opening up new ways to bring people together across your organization.

It is worth noting that all Aha! Notebooks users added to your account will need to be on the same plan. With both plans, you control whether each Aha! Notebooks user has contributor, reviewer, or viewer permissions for the documents in each of the workspaces you grant them access to.
