Just Launched — The Easiest Way to Manage Product Requirements

by Keith Brown

Requirements management is a core job of product managers. By clearly defining your requirements with the details your engineers need, you can ensure that you deliver exactly what your customers want.

At Aha! we know that the process of creating, refining, and prioritizing feature requirements is crucial, which is why we’ve decided to make big improvements to the user experience.

Check out the new and improved way to manage product requirements:

Create requirements with ease
You can now easily and quickly add requirements using an in-line creator and keyboard shortcuts. As you build out requirements, you can collaborate with your team to refine and prioritize them, all while keeping your features linked directly to your product strategy.

Simply type your requirement summary, then tap Enter to quickly add another requirement or select Done to just add one.

Describe exactly what customers want
Bring clarity to the requirements experience and give your engineers what they need. By describing exactly what your customers want, you can ensure that the entire team is focused on the most important aspects of your feature. You can also assign requirements to individuals and update statuses accordingly so that it’s clear who is responsible.

You can even attach images or documents within each requirement for added detail.

Collaborate with team members
Comments allow you to work with cross-functional teams to gather information and finalize requirements. And by capturing all feedback in a comment stream you can easily refine user stories over time. You can @ mention other Aha! users to draw their attention to specific information that requires their input.

Get valuable product feedback out of email and use comment streams instead.

Quickly assign To-dos
We also made similar improvements with To-dos. By assigning To-dos within requirements, you can ensure that the appropriate tasks are organized in a clean manner and completed on time. You can use the same keyboard shortcuts to easily create To-dos across Aha!

To-dos in Aha! can be used to request feedback or assign simple tasks related to the work of building product.

Report on requirement progress
Sometimes you need to be able to view all of your requirements at a glance. Using a pivot table report you can create views of your requirements and even customize the columns and filters.

The report above shows requirements at a glance filtered by status and assignee.

We continue to make the most-used aspects of Aha! better. Today, that means enhancing requirements management and the creation of To-dos. Clearly defining features and managing cross functional teams are core jobs for product managers.

We do our best to continue to make Aha! easier to use, for you and for us. We hope you feel a little more joy every time you use Aha!
