December 15, 2014 release notes

New

  • The Aha! text editor has been vastly improved to make the work you do more enjoyable and streamlined.

    • We've added a floating menu – a menu that “sticks” to the top of your window as you scroll down a page. This ensures that you never have to scroll back to the top of a page to format text. This is a huge time saver.

    • You can add images inline so you don’t have to attach additional documentation with rich media. Just select the image button and then upload your desired image. We also support drag and drop so you can upload images faster. Once it’s in your description, you aren’t stuck with a huge or tiny image. Grab the edges to resize the image larger or smaller depending on the level of detail you need.

    • Inline tables make managing and analyzing a group of related data easier, you can create a table inline alongside text, images, or links. To insert a table using the text editor select the insert table button in the text editor, and use the cells to highlight the exact number of rows and columns you need. Once inserted the table is displayed inline where your cursor was. The table will automatically size itself to fit the dimensions of your text, or you can manipulate it manually to reach the desired size.

    • There are also additional formatting options so can do things like create a quote or highlight a sentence. This makes it easier to do more with Aha! and eliminates the need to duplicate effort when you are ready to present your features, roadmap, or strategy.

  • You can now filter by default and custom fields on the Roadmap Timeline view. This will help you more easily create views based on what interests your stakeholders. For example, if you only want to show features that have been approved, filter by Status and check all but Under consideration.

Improvements

Feature management improvements

  • Hovering over an Aha! score in features will display how that score was computed.

Ideas improvements

  • You can now allow any of your idea statuses to show in the ideas portal. In the custom workflow configuration for ideas, choose whether each status should appear in the ideas portal or not.

  • You can now export the list of Ideas users. Go to Settings - Account - Configure idea portals. Click on the idea portal, then the Portal Users tab and click Export users to CSV.

  • When searching on the Ideas portal, one previously had to reset the search to easily go back to the full list of ideas. We've added an "X" to remove the search terms and automatically refresh the screen.

Integration improvements

  • Within the Aha! <- JIRA integration, you may choose to disable the creation and linking of releases to versions.

Notebook improvements

  • Notebooks with a password set will now show a padlock in the list view (on the right) and Open web page button in the detailed view. This will allow you to easily determine which notebooks have not been password protected.

  • Links that are added to custom text fields and published in Notebooks can be clicked to open.
