New Aha! Develop Extension for Azure Repos

by Jeff Tucker

GitHub. ✔ GitLab. ✔ And now Azure Repos. ✔ These extensions in the Aha! Develop library make it easy to connect user stories in Aha! Develop with the source code in your version control tool. Track the status of branches and pull requests once you push code — without leaving Aha! Develop.

An extension for Azure Repos is the newest in our growing library — so you can connect Aha! Develop to the version control tool of your choice and keep work in sync.

Connecting Aha! Develop to Azure Repos gives you visibility into the status of the code associated with your user stories. This makes it easy to keep an eye on progress. It also creates a quick way to jump back into that code if needed — so you can keep work moving forward.

Get started by installing the Azure Repos extension from the Aha! Develop extension library. Then add a custom field called Azure Repos to your user story card layout in Aha! Develop. That field will now display the status of branches and pull requests.

Let's take a closer look at the new extension:

Automatically track pull requests

First, connect your user stories in Aha! Develop with your source code in Azure Repos. You can do this manually or configure a webhook in Azure Repos to handle it automatically. When you create a new branch in Azure Repos, simply include the Aha! reference number in the branch name. This makes the branch visible on the corresponding user story in Aha! Develop — so you can quickly check the status of pull requests.

Customize extensions with code — so you can automate tasks like creating to-dos, adding tags, leaving comments, and more.

Connect your tools with Aha! Develop and get the insights you need — in one place.

In addition to the Azure Repos extension, we also offer an Azure DevOps importer extension. Use this extension to get tasks out of Azure DevOps and into Aha! Develop — so all dev work is captured in a central backlog. You can install the Azure Boards importer extension directly from the import sidebar in Aha! Develop and start pulling in work items right away.
