My Name Is Nataliya Soloveva — This Is What I Achieve at Aha!

by What I achieve at Aha!

What is the best way to accelerate your career? Work in a high-growth company that challenges you and puts learning first. An unwavering motivation to continue improving and achieving is also key. The highest performers constantly pursue new ideas and seek to understand the experiences and motivations of the people around them. We can learn a lot from them.

Curiosity fuels growth — which is why we want to bring you personal stories of achievement from talented people. Our hope is that some of their ideas are useful and maybe even inspirational as you work to become your best.

Meet Nataliya Soloveva — a manager on the Aha! finance team. For more than four years, Nataliya has helped ensure the financial health of our company and managed a wide range of financial processes to support the Aha! team.

Nataliya lives in Nashville, Tennessee with her miniature Australian Shepherd Ozzy. She enjoys traveling, yoga, trying new foods, and live music.

Read on to learn more about how she finds meaning and joy in her work — in her own words.

What kinds of projects energize you?

"I enjoy working on projects that are a combination of problem-solving and improving processes. First, I carefully assess a process. Then I figure out how to make it leaner and more efficient. That involves getting into the weeds of processes to really understand every component and detail and then coming up with a plan to simplify things."

Which recent accomplishment are you most proud of?

"I get to wear many hats in my current role, so every day brings something new. I recently had the opportunity to work on a project updating laptops across the company. It involved purchasing new computers and then donating the old ones to non-profit organizations. This might seem like a pretty straightforward administrative task, but it turned out to be quite meaningful. It was a chance to bring joy to our team members and donate to help those in need of some pre-loved equipment."

What has been the most rewarding thing about your current role?

"The most rewarding thing about joining the Aha! team has been setting up new finance processes. Seeing these processes used throughout the team brings me a lot of satisfaction. I can directly see the impact of my work and that motivates me to continue finding new ways to improve our processes."

What is the most surprising but useful career advice someone has given you?

"Do not be overly apologetic. I have found that women tend to apologize more than necessary. This specific piece of advice encouraged me to step into the discomfort of not apologizing for every little thing and take back the power of direct communication."

Being intentional and straightforward in your communication conveys confidence and capability — making it easier to be your best and contribute in the most impactful way.

How should someone keep learning in a finance role?

"Stay curious. When you are curious about your surroundings and the work that you do, learning opportunities will come naturally."
