Best practices

We have helped over a million customers set up their Aha! accounts. Here are a few tips to get you started!

Workspace hierarchy

  • Start simple — you can always make it more sophisticated.

  • Organize workspaces around what you deliver to your customers.

Custom status workflows

  • Do not start from scratch. Use the example workflow for each record type as a base — then customize it to fit your needs.

Custom scorecards

  • Start with the default product value scorecard. Estimate a few features and note where the priority feels off to you. Then adjust the equation's weighting.

  • Trial a brand new scorecard in a demo workspace to make sure it fits your needs. Once it works well, re-create it in your real workspaces.

Custom layouts

  • Start simple! Add a couple custom fields and run a record through its workflow to make sure that the custom fields help with alignment.

  • Arrange fields within a custom layout with the most important workflow information — location, type, assignee, and status — near the top. Put less actionable fields near the bottom
