View dependency lines on your custom roadmap

Have you ever been part of a chaotic product launch? Most of us probably have. When the team lacks insight into key dependencies, confusion reigns and dates can slip. That is why there are multiple ways to view and manage dependencies in Aha! Roadmaps — giving you clarity into who needs to do what so there are no surprises. Today, we launched a new way to see dependencies on one of our most popular roadmaps.

Create a custom product roadmap with dependencies in Aha! Roadmaps to highlight work that needs to be coordinated.

Consider all of the ways you have been able to coordinate work in Aha! Roadmaps. For example, you can manage complex launches using a Gantt chart or view dependencies across multiple products and teams on the dependency report. Now, you can also highlight dependencies on the custom roadmap, giving you even more options for creating the perfect view of your product plans.

You can find this new option in the configuration sidebar of any custom roadmap. Check the box to see dependency lines for any work items that are a dependency of or dependent on other work. It is a straightforward way to share dependencies with the broader team. This helps everyone correctly sequence work, identify and mitigate risks in the plan, and deliver on time.

Below, you can see that we are tracking initiative progress for a product portfolio. Each initiative contains features as well as some dependencies. We highlight those relationships on this custom roadmap with dependency lines. When we share the roadmap, each team will understand not only how their work fits into the broader plan, but also which features require careful coordination.

The record icon next to each bar will still show you all linked and related records. From there, you can drill into the details and adjust dates to resolve conflicts.

Craft the perfect view of your plans — including complex relationships between work items — with a custom roadmap.

Try out the new dependency lines on your custom roadmap, keep managing them within your Gantt chart, view them on your dependency report, or do all of the above. The choice is yours. What matters is that the team has increased visibility across linked work — so nothing is missed and everyone feels confident in what you are delivering.
